Made a last minute decision to visit the plantation because we wanted to learn more about sugarcane production (after seeing sugarcane fields EVERYWHERE on our drive!)Pulled into the gift shop and bought tickets for the St. Joseph tour. Ended up just being my husband and I with the guide (Mike). He was great! We learned a lot about sugarcane production (in the past and currently). Also, learned a lot about the plantation and the history of the house itself. Fully recommend, especially if you are looking for smaller tour sizes and an authentic tour.

The city tour was excellent. The tour guide, Harris was very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful New Orleans history lesson. The steamboat entry process was great and well organized. I didn’t have the tickets with the meal option, but was asked if we would like to eat as we boarded. We said yes and was advised to pay at the bar and then was seated. The salad, entree and dessert were served very quickly and efficiently. We were able to get our own water or tea which was included with the meal. They offer drinks for purchase. There was a nice jazz band on board and narration as to the sites we were passing by. We had a great time! Highly recommend!!!!

We were very glad that we booked the combo tour of both plantations, both guides Mike and Robert were excellent and gave us a good insight into the sugar industry and life on the plantations for both the owners and the enslaved lives.You need to go to the store located in between the two plantations first to buy your tickets.

This food tour was absolutely worth every single dollar!!! Darrell was a phenomenal tour guide, not only did he take us to the best places to eat he give us an in depth lesson in New Orleans history! Art, music, food, and of course Hurricane Katrina. And he even took us to talk to a survivor by the name of Mr. Green who shared his lost and experience with us!! I am definitely going to book this tour again whenever I go back to New Orleans!!

I booked the plantation tour with Tours By Isabelle because it was one of the only ones to offer tours in French. Isabelle was very clear in her explanations before and after the booking and was always available via WhatsApp; it is a guarantee of quality and professionalism.Our guide René picked us up at our hotel and shared anecdotes with us throughout the car ride to our destination, and on the way back, he gave us very good recommendations for restaurants. Isabelle had booked a French-language tour of the Laura plantation and notified me of a date change as soon as she knew about it, so that I could plan ahead.I recommend Tours By Isabelle with my eyes closed!

Cassandra took us into all the areas of the city, mostly driving (our choice) but we did our share of walking in the French Quarter and at the Cemetery. Cassandra had so much knowledge, provided visuals to help us understand the history, answered all our questions, provided suggestions for restaurants and other sites near our hotel, and all in all made our first trip to New Orleans perfect.
