Everything we hoped for in a swamp boat tour!
This was our first time to Louisiana and we wanted a genuine swamp tour, and boy did we get one! Our guide, Jay, is a bonafide Cajun (a direct descendant of Jean Lafitte himself) and he was incredibly knowledgeable about everything we asked, from history, to ecology, and botany. He wowed us immeasurably when he pulled the boat off into a little bay inside the swamp and started shouting Cajun French out into the trees, and lo and behold no fewer than four alligators came out to greet us, the largest of which he kissed on the mouth! When we return to southern Louisiana, and whenever we have friends visit, we will be doing/recommending this tour and we will be asking for Jay!

Tyra was absolutely fantastic! Our tour with her was Saturday July 11, 2026 at 10am. She has an amazing personality, truly loves people, and made our tour so enjoyable. Her knowledge of New Orleans, the places we visited, and the streets we traveled was incredible. We learned so much about the city’s history and culture. She also recommended wonderful restaurants and great places to shop, and we followed her suggestions the very next day—they were all excellent! Tyra made our experience unforgettable, and we highly recommend taking a tour with her. Thank you, Tyra, for such a fun and informative experience!

Our tour operator Anna was fantastic. Not only did she give us a preview on the stops and activities we would be embarking on. She gave us a thorough description of every area we drove through or stopped at. I had researched a lot of other tours and Tours by Isabelle had the most consistent remarks and ratings. We came to New Orleans with a large group and when comparing tours others had taken for various reasons the consensus was we had the best one. Hats off to Isabelle as well as Anna. Great job!

Do this tour! We had a great afternoon with Ashley walking around the French Quarter and a little bit of Treme. She was full of knowledge and moved seamlessly from history to architecture to cultural commentary. She kept it engaging for our two teenagers, taking us through 250+ years of history during our 2.5 hour tour. It was a great introduction to New Orleans for our children and one of the highlights of our trip.

If you do one thing in the city of New Orleans, let it be this tour. Marc was knowledgable, engaging, and extremely welcoming on my family's trip to New Orleans. Having never been to the area, he provided us with expert level knowledge on the culinary scene as a insider in the restaurant business. This was truly a unique experience that I do not believe we could have created for ourselves had we simply dined-in at the restaurants and locations on this tour. Marc constantly exceeded expectations in restaurant and dish selection, and he made sure that we got all that New Orleans had to offer. When Marc walked into a restaurant with our party, the entire wait staff knew his name, and welcomed us with open arms. He was also incredibly accommodating to my family's preferences and past experiences in New Orleans thus far, and he even gave us additional recommendations for activities and dining in the area!This was by and far the highlight of our trip, and I could not recommend Marc and this specific tour enough. To say he went above and beyond is an understatement.

This is a great tour to understand the geography and history of the French Quarter. The guide covered the settlement of the city in the 1700's by the French, Spanish rule and the Louisiana purchase. He was well informed on the ironwork and architecture of the Quarter. We walked to the river, through the Quarter and then to Treme. It was an easy walk and all our questions were answered. Our guide suggested eating at Napoleon House for lunch and we were very pleased. I highly recommend using Soul of Nola. The owner is very organized and helpful. Her guides are energetic, friendly and knowledgeable.
