THE BEST. Audubon Zoo was the best zoo in the universe before Katrina. Today, it has recovered nicely, though not like it was. Unfortunately, it was VERY hot during visit, and most animals were hiding in the AC or mud, or caves.....The highlight was seeing the Lions up close. There are 7 of them, one daddy, two cubs and the rest females. Incredible experience with them.Aquarium was hit very very hard during Katrina, and most species died. They have recovered well, and have a lovely facility that I hope expands in the future. Lots of highlights here - Jellyfish exhibits, penguins, huge glass aquarium filled with lots of different fish + Rays .Insectarium is always fascinating. Some exhibits are not for the faint of heart, but interesting, nonetheless.The not to be missed BEST exhibit is the Butterfly free-for-all Garden. What a blast, tons of butterflies flying around, and the nice man at the exhibit knows his stuff! Very educational & beautiful.

Our drivers Barbara & Keith were fantastic & great drivers. The plantation tour was very interesting & informative. The bayou cruise with captain Bobby was great & a highlight. Only one thing from the whole day I’d like to see change -I found it disturbing the feeding of marshmallows to the wildlife to encourage interaction. Personally I’d prefer less interaction to protect their health, wellbeing & environment. That aside the tour was a great day out & will recommend.

It was honestly a pretty big zoo, and they had lots of animals to show off! I did the bundle ticket that included the aquarium and the insectarium as well, however I am not from NOLA, so be aware that the zoo is in a different part of town, but the other two are in the same building. Make sure to make time for that since both places close at 5! You can definitely take your time, and even as a solo traveler I had a lot of fun reading and looking at the exhibits. It was definitely worth bundling them all together to save money. Staff were friendly and helpful with directions, and the gift shops were cute too! Make sure to bring a fan if it is hot though.

Was a lot of animals and worth the money a bit pricey but worth it. It’s good as a family or solo or a couple. It is veryhot during the summer so bring plenty of water and maybe a fan definitely bring or rent a stroller or wagon for younger kids it’s a lot of walking. only downside is most of the animals aren’t always there.

Wonderful day spent exploring Oak Alley.. and tons of fun on the swamp. Oak Alley is a bit heavy historically.. but important. They make amazing mint juleps, too. Winding down in the swamp afterwards was perfect. Seeing all those alligators in a unique ecosystem was so interesting.

Gary was an engaging and entertaining driver who kept us captivated during our drive to Oak Alley. He shared his personal experiences during Hurricane Katrina, which truly held everyone's attention. Upon our arrival at Oak Alley, we were fortunate to have Mr. Anthony as our private tour guide, and he was absolutely phenomenal. This was my second visit to this historic home, and Mr. Anthony offered new insights, particularly regarding the enslaved Africans, including fascinating details about Deterville that I hadn’t heard before. I would highly recommend calling ahead to see if you can book a tour with Mr. Anthony. After the tour, he graciously provided additional information that time had not permitted during our walk through the home. Mr. Anthony’s expertise and passion made this trip truly memorable and sparked my desire to learn more about Oak Alley.

This is a fantastic zoo and aquarium! It is very shaded which helps with the heat. My kids are teens but this would have been a perfect activity for younger kids. Lots of water features and play areas.
