THE BEST. Audubon Zoo was the best zoo in the universe before Katrina. Today, it has recovered nicely, though not like it was. Unfortunately, it was VERY hot during visit, and most animals were hiding in the AC or mud, or caves.....The highlight was seeing the Lions up close. There are 7 of them, one daddy, two cubs and the rest females. Incredible experience with them.Aquarium was hit very very hard during Katrina, and most species died. They have recovered well, and have a lovely facility that I hope expands in the future. Lots of highlights here - Jellyfish exhibits, penguins, huge glass aquarium filled with lots of different fish + Rays .Insectarium is always fascinating. Some exhibits are not for the faint of heart, but interesting, nonetheless.The not to be missed BEST exhibit is the Butterfly free-for-all Garden. What a blast, tons of butterflies flying around, and the nice man at the exhibit knows his stuff! Very educational & beautiful.

Everything we hoped for in a swamp boat tour!
This was our first time to Louisiana and we wanted a genuine swamp tour, and boy did we get one! Our guide, Jay, is a bonafide Cajun (a direct descendant of Jean Lafitte himself) and he was incredibly knowledgeable about everything we asked, from history, to ecology, and botany. He wowed us immeasurably when he pulled the boat off into a little bay inside the swamp and started shouting Cajun French out into the trees, and lo and behold no fewer than four alligators came out to greet us, the largest of which he kissed on the mouth! When we return to southern Louisiana, and whenever we have friends visit, we will be doing/recommending this tour and we will be asking for Jay!

A great way to experience Luisiana!
If you are looking for a fun, educational day, the New Orleans Nature and Wildlife Boat Tour and Crab Boil is the way to go! Their site was easy to use and book. The hosts Captain Brian and Emmett allowed us to participate in pulling crab traps, prepare and eat fresh seafood, which gave us a truly authentic experience. They made sure everyone having a good time and treated us like family. It was really interesting to learn of the companies involvement in local restoration efforts. I highly recommend this company.

Birdwatching on the Bayou!
We booked this trip because we are getting into birding and wanted to see what the brackish waters of the Mississippi Delta might have in store. Captain Emmett was very knowledgeable about Bayou wildlife. We felt safe and comfortable on the boat whole time. We saw an alligator, herons, egrets, ibis, terns, anhinga, gulls, vultures, and an osprey. It was a success and a great way to check out the Bywater neighborhood.

We had the absolute pleasure of the planets aligning to set us up with Lea Lea as our tour guide. Her love of New Orleans was infectious, her knowledge of the water ways, history of the city, food recommendations, and ability to weave us through the French Quarter made this tour our favorite. Gary was an engaging and entertaining driver who kept us captivated during our drive to Oak Alley. He shared his personal experiences during Hurricane Katrina, which truly held everyone's attention. Upon our arrival at Oak Alley, we were fortunate to have Mr. Anthony as our private tour guide, and he was absolutely phenomenal. This was my second visit to this historic home, and Mr. Anthony offered new insights, particularly regarding the enslaved Africans, including fascinating details about Deterville that I hadn’t heard before. I would highly recommend calling ahead to see if you can book a tour with Mr. Anthony. After the tour, he graciously provided additional information that time had not permitted during our walk through the home. Mr. Anthony’s expertise and passion made this trip truly memorable and sparked my desire to learn more about Oak Alley.

Great Group activity!
We did the Mardi Gras Mambo tour for a corporate event last month. It was totally worth it. They take the time to make the tour great for everyone, even those that would not be into Mardi Gras stuff. We got to make our own mask, take pictures on beautiful sights, and toured a distillery. Great activity and the guests were impressed with the transportation. Top Notch!

My extended family met up in New Orleans for mini reunion just before Christmas. One of the highlights of our trip was the Airboat Adventures private airboat tour. Ronnie "Alligator" Bundy, our guide and captain made the tour so much fun. He was knowledgeable, fun, engaging and authentic. The boat was comfortable for our large group, the shuttle from downtown was timely and convenient, and the tour was informative and enjoyed by all three generations in attendance. But it really was Ronnie who made it memorable.

Brian was our bus driver for Crescent City Tours!!!!!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about him!!! He was the absolute BEST!!! He was full of history and even pointed out areas along the way used as filming locations for major movies. Our 2 tours were great but he made the experience the BEST! He is funny too!
